"A Wonderful story that can teach children problem solving skills and how important it is to have friendships with everyone. It is easy to read to young children and the illustrations are colorful and fun to look at."- Review by Kimberly Sorensen of Mount Pleasant, UT

Castle finished©2009 David G. Morgan

Well here is the finished picture, which i rendered in the computer. I was experimenting mostly with variations on a theme, color, depth, etc. It goes well with the Frankenstein drawing I posted earlier.

Before and After 'The Castle' part 1 ©2009 David G. Morgan

I started this as an idea for a castle up on a hill, a basic drawing, an outline if you will and tomorrow I'll post the final product.

Frank L. Cole

I recently met a first-time published author Frank L. Cole whose new book Hash Brown Winters is now available, check it out at http://www.hashbrownwinters.com. It's very humorous and enjoyable for 5th graders on up. He did an interview for the local TV station here and my daughter Maddi was lucky enough to be one of the interviewers. She was real excited, as was I. So best wishes to Frank and his new book!!

Pratt Construction ©2009 David G. Morgan

This was one of my first jobs to design a logo for a t-shirt for a local construction company called Pratt Construction. It was a good exercise of line drawings which became essential to developing future skills in my paintings and later illustrations.

The Crow Flies Again ©2009 David G. Morgan

Here is a scan from a possible image to the upcoming book. Mind you this was a first draft from a first draft, so images are subject to change. The manuscript is nearing it's final draft and I am excited to start work on it! I'll keep you posted.

The Old Sentry© 2009 David G. Morgan

Here is a sketch of an idea of a old nearly Norse style sentry post an ancient civilization might build to protect or to send early warning of impending invasion or visitors. I'm loosely basing it on what I've seen of architecture or sculpture you could imagine during that time, or a civilization like that.

Frankenstein

This was taken from an ink drawing, I scanned it then re-drew it in the computer. It turned out rather well I thought. I drew it for a book cover...can you guess...oh I guess the title gave it away, LOL

The Morgans © 2009 David G. Morgan

This was my first group caricature of my brother Rick's Family, when they had just 2 children. He was an music major in college and it has been his lifelong dream to be a working musician. He's still working on it. I hope he succeeds!

Here is the other version of the Roadrunner mascot.

CHC Roadrunner ©

This was a character, which I was hoping to be the new mascot to the college I was attending, Crafton Hills. It didn't turn out that way, and I did a couple designs. This was the first one. Tomorrow I'll post the second one that was more streamlined. I never named him, or her, so if you think of something let me know.

Activity Book©

This was another school project, to design a new look for The Orange Empire Railroad Museum in California. The project not only called for a new logo design, but a marketing scheme that involved little extras you would receive upon your arrival. I decided to take the route of child amusement, as I thought increasing interest with the young ones is always important when promoting a museum or theme parks. This was more or less my first go at layout and color design for this particular project, but I thought it turned out OK.

Junebug

This was an image I designed for a line of stamps, or stamp art called Junebug Stamps. I developed numerous characters based on the concept of a bunch of Junebugs in various humorous situations or poses.
...
Which reminds me
I do enjoy movies and I like a good quote, especially if they're funny.

Caricatures

I thought I would post this because it shows my ability to develop characters from real people. In fact, I did quite a lot of this early on trying to develop a style. This was one of the last ones that I did of a niece and one of her old friend.

Day Care Design

I did this design for a local daycare that needed illustrations for fliers, business cards, etc. kinda quirky, but they were looking for something child-friendly, yet conveyed the ability to cater to a diverse population.

Moose

Here is a glance of Moose, something I was developing at school for a packaging project for Moose Munchies. He also has a complex back story... LOL

New books in the works

As well as doing a sequel to "We are different you and me" I am also working on two other children's books that I am authoring and illustrating myself. I will keep you posted on those projects as well.

Billy

I'm going to start publishing some sketches and rough idea to give you an idea of how I work and things that I like to draw. As well as doing illustrations for books, I do caricatures, logos and graphic design. I also paint, which at times enters the realm of the abstract. I am very enthusiastic about the creative process, and enjoy turning a client's idea into a reality. I will eventually have samples on this site of all the different things I like to do. I hope you enjoy them.
